Has anyone else had problems with this tractor? I have less than 60 hours on it and it's been in the shop 3 times. All for the same thing. It locks up when going forward using loader and will not come out of gear until it is turned off and has to be shut off in order to be put in reverse. Any and all problems I would be interested in hearing about if you have the same tractor.

I'd check to make sure the clutch pedal free play is within spec, but surely the dealer would have done that. Off hand, I'd say that maybe the tractor is in 4wd, the axle is winding up and weight in the bucket plus wind-up is locking up the TX. A test for the condition is to lift the front wheels off the ground with the loader if possible. If it's wind-up, the TX should then shift.

A fix for excessive wind-up is to ensure that the tires actually are a matched set for the tractor, again the dealer should have done so. Front and rear tires must have a particular ratio of rolling circumferences to match the different front and rear drive gear ratios. The ratio varies from tractor to tractor and usually is defined so the front wheels lead the rear by a couple of percent. Excessive lead or lag can place a stress on the drive trains so that shifting or disengaging 4wd is difficult. Tire pressure affects rolling circumference. If wind-up is the problem and the tires are right, adjusting tires pressures might fix the problem.

Tom has some good points there about the axle wind up but I do believe the clutch is hanging you up some how although we have or I have not seen nor heard of the problem you are having with your tracotr. I have seen it before with other makes and different models. Kubota matches it's tires for the dealer but sometimes during assembly there might be mistakes made. It does seem strange that that would be the only time that it happens if it is a tire mismatch. ....
